Unaccompanied Minors
Age and price vary on each airline's unaccompanied minors policy. SEA Airport suggests contacting your airline in advance to see what their exact policies are. Allow extra time for check in and paperwork required before the flight.
Escorting Minors to Their Gate
Each airline has their own policies but usually approve gate passes to assist an unaccompanied minor. Airline gate passes usually allow a parent or guardian to go through security with the unaccompanied minor. Passes are assigned by the airline during the booking process.
If the airline's gate pass policy does not meet your needs, there are alternatives. TSA Gateside Program is available for trusted travelers who have TSA PreCheck. After approval, access post-security is available at any TSA Checkpoint PreCheck lane at SEA. For general screening access, please use the SEA Visitor Pass Program at Checkpoint 4.
Identification Requirements
According to TSA, people under 18 do not need to provide identification when traveling within the United States. Most airlines do not require a form of ID for boarding and just require your boarding pass, but please confirm with the airline.
